Xavier Geoffroy is a Graduate Student studying Neuroscience and Developmental Disabilities at The College of Staten Island. Xavier is currently a registered nurse working in a neuroscience progressive care unit at Montefiore Medical Center in The Bronx, NY. As a neuroscience student, Xavier is conducting research in The McCloskey Laboratory at The College of Staten Island working under the mentorship of the lab’s principle investigator, Dan McCloskey, PhD. Xavier is primary interested in elucidating the underlying physiological mechanisms involved in neuropsychological disorders such as Autism Spectrum Disorders and epilepsy. Xavier is also interesting in understanding the neuromolecular underpinnings of certain social behaviors through studying a unique animal model, the naked mole rat.
